Installing the Modem
To install the modem:

Physically connect the modem to the system.
See “Connecting the 3820 Modem to the Platform,” in Chapter 4,
“Completing System Installation," in UCS 1000 R4.2 New System
Installation, 585-313-127, for the procedure to physically connect the
modem.
Configuring the Modem
In order for the 3820 or 3920 plus modem to work properly with the voice
system, you must configure the modem using one of the two following
methods:

Configure the modem via its control panel after connecting it to the COM
port on the hardware platform. See

Connect the modem to a terminal that acts as a DTE and configure the
modem via the terminal. See

page 264
for more information.
