The heat sinks and CPUs might be very hot. Turn off the server and wait several minutes to let the
server cool before removing the server cover.
To replace the heat sink and fan assembly, do the following:
1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server and removing the server cover” on page 41.
2. Lay the server on its side for easier operation.
3. Locate the heat sink and fan assembly. See “Server components” on page 17.
4. Disconnect the heat sink and fan assembly cable from the system board.
