This field of the control panel includes all set-
tings and selections for trimming and section-
ing.
3-dgit displays
The 3-digit display SECT./µm reads the selected sec-
tioning thickness. The 3-digit display TRIM/µm reads
the selected trimming thickness.
Adjusting knob
The adjusting knob is for adjusting all values indicated
in the 4-digit and 3-digit displays.
The adjusting knob has no mechanical limit
stop, i.e. it can be rotated endlessly in either
direction.
Value adjusting itself is of course not endless
and will only take place within the given set-
ting ranges (e.g. section thickness setting: 0.25
- 60 µm).
Selecting the sectioning and trimming mode
• Press TRIM to switch back and forth between sec-
tioning mode SECT./µm and trimming mode TRIM/
µm.
Every time you press the button, the display will alter-
nate between SECT/µm and TRIM/µm .
The sectioning indication SECT/µm always displays the
section thickness in a range between 0.25 and 60 µm,
the trimming indication TRIM/µm displays the trimming
thickness between 1.0 and 600 µm.
