Chock all wheels.

” tag on the driver’s wheel and on the front windshield.

Use safety props to block an open tailgate to prevent movement due to gravity.
9.
Drain all air tanks.
10.
Verify and inspect any security device and/or mechanism to make sure that there is no bypass
and that they are all functional.
Shutting Down the Vehicle
If the vehicle has to be stored for an extended period of time, follow the chassis manufacturer’s
shutdown and maintenance requirements.
Also:
1.
Park the vehicle on a hard, level surface and apply the parking brake (see Figure 2-14).
2.
Make sure that all moving parts are in their home position (tailgate, packer, etc.).
3.
Turn off, in sequence, the hydraulic pump (see Figure 2-18), the electrical system, the engine and
the master switch (see Figure 2-15).
4.
Drain all air tanks.
