(RS-232) is used for laptop interface to support system setup, post
installation checkout and troubleshooting. The port defaults to the

Extended Audio Switch
(Required to enable the
ViP™ Extended Audio
Callout feature)
An extended audio callout switch is required when interfacing to the extended
audio switch input P1-32 of the TRC899. Units with Mod D and software 1.8
or higher are ViP™ Extended Audio Callout capable. This switch allows the
pilot to turn on and off (mute) the range, relative altitude and relative bearing
callout from the aural TA’s. When the switch is in the “Normal” position the
standard phrase “Traffic, Traffic” is still annunciated.
Any SPST toggle switch (1/2 A @ 28 V dc) may be used.
