Each alternate display will show the information consistent with the capabilities of that particular display.
Refer to table 4-1 when selecting display drivers, it list display drivers and ranges. Consider the following
when selecting the display driver:
•
If "None" is selected the ARINC 429 alternate display output (see paragraph 2.9.3) is turned off and
the WX-1000/SKY497 display defaults to Standard Type 1.
•
When selecting a display driver determine the range and function capabilities of your alternate
display. Select the driver that matches your alternate display. Refer to table 4-1 for display drivers.
•
Standard Type 1 thru 5 are the typical display drivers to be used with the WX-1000/SKY497 display
and available for use with alternate displays. Sextant (1501/1502 displays) and Forestry Service
drivers should be selected only for those specific installations.
•
If the system has more than one display the current range, altitude mode and the number of intruders
displayed may be different between displays.
•
The display drivers determine which range the system will be in when it comes out of standby and
self-test, as well as the number of intruders displayed. Some alternate displays control their functions
internally and ignore portions or all of our display driver functions.
•
When connecting a WX-1000/SKY497 display with other alternate displays select a display driver
that matches the ranges of the alternate displays. This will allow the WX-1000/SKY497 display to
mirror the ranges of the other displays (e.g., The Garmin GNS430 ranges are 2, 6, 12, & 24. Selecting
standard type 5 for a display driver will allow the WX-1000/SKY497 display to have the same ranges
as the GNS430).
