Daily Maintenance
The following daily maintenance is necessary
to keep the condition of the brake caliper good.
Inspect whether the housing can slide freely
on the bracket.
Inspect whether the chained operations of
the cam ensure the smooth operation of the
housing.
Inspect whether the surface of the disc is
worn or bent.
If the brakes are not effective even after
adjusting, replace the brakes.
Lubricate the convex portions of the pivot pin
and cam with the dry lubricant.
Check to see the cam operation amount.
Remove the brake wire and, if the maximum
operation amount of the cam exceeds 50
degrees, replace the pads of both carrier and
cam.

Removal of Brake Caliper
Place a jack beneath the jack-up point, lift a
wheel on one side, and place the jack stands
to prevent falling.
Remove the front wheel.

Remove the cotter pin of slotted nut securing
the wheel mounting base.

Cotter pin
Install wheel mounting base bracket F of the
special tools onto the wheel mounting base
and insert the bolt into the corresponding
screw hole to secure it.
Be sure to set the wheel mounting base
bracket F in the installation position as
shown in the illustration.
The hole to insert the bolt of wheel mounting
base bracket F is the long hole.
