Option 129 External Noise Source

Option 129 External Noise Source

The U3042AM20 with Option 129 allows an external ECal module, or noise
source to be switched into the Source path of Ports 1, 5, 9, 13, 17 or 21. Only
one port can be the active source. The front panel EXT NOISE SOURCE IN is
switched to the Output port, and the front panel EXT NOISE SOURCE OUT is
switched to the Test Set SOURCE IN (connected to the PNA-X SOURCE OUT
with a jumper cable) when the command is sent. Refer to

Table 11 on page 48

Figure 38 on page 50

System Configuration

illustrated the PNA-X with the Test Set and N4691B Option MOF

(ECal module) installed. The cable (U3042-20076) provided with Option 129 is
intended to be used with the N46xx series ECal modules. The ECal module

with Option M0F is recommended.

Connect the ECal module to the Test Set EXT NOISE SOURCE IN.

2.

Connect the cable (U3042-20076) from the Test Set EXT NOISE SOURCE

OUT to the ECal module.

3.

Connect the ECal modules USB cable to one of the PNA-X USB ports.
