Troubleshooting the Test Set

Option 129 Path Test
This test will verify the RF paths of Option 129 in standard mode. This
measures the insertion loss of the Noise Source In to Port 1, 5, 9, 13, 17 or 21
and the Noise Source Out to CPLR THRU.
Noise Source In Test
Ext Noise Source In to CPLR THRU
1. Set the PNA to Standalone Mode.
2. Remove all of the interface cables.
3. Connect two RF test cables to the Ports 1 and 2 on the analyzer, and
connect the two cables together using an adapter.
4. Perform a Response Calibration to normalize and remove the loss created
by the test cables.
5. Move the adapter to Port 5.
6. Connect the cable from Port 1 to Noise Source In.
7. Connect the cable from Port 2 to CPLR THRU (near Port 5).
8. Send the Test Set I/O command 0.8.
9. Set trace S21 and verify that the trace is similar to
Ext Noise Source In to Ports 5, 9, 13, 17 and 21
10. Repeat for Port 5, 9, 13, 17 and 21. Refer to
command to be sent. Verify that the LED for the port being tested is
illuminated. Verify that the trace is similar to
