Remove the four M4 screws (two per acquisition assembly) on the side of the
backplane assembly (six M4 screws if the oscilloscope has the hardware serial
trigger option or is an MSO model, as shown below).

Remove the top acquisition board (channels 3 and 4) first, carefully guiding the
input cables through the slots.
Use the handles on the acquisition tray to separate the backplane assembly
from each of the acquisition assemblies. This step requires some force as the
assemblies have numerous connections and pins.
