12.5 Using Compact Flash to transfer retentive memory
Uploaded retentive memory can be transferred to HMI units with Compact Flash ports. These units accept CompactFlash
TM
memory cards. Data is stored to the CompactFlash
TM
memory cards, transported to the unit and inserted, then transferred to
the units retentive memory. This is convenient for sending recipe updates to remote locations and customer sites. It also
allows the data to be transferred to the unit without the need of a portable PC or other external equipment.
A project must be in the HMI that shows the status of
LB9360
, displays the value in
LW9136
and has a SetBit part to
activate
LB9361
.
12.5.1 Transferring data to CompactFlash
TM
memory
Copy the previously uploaded
*.rcp
file to the CompactFlash
TM
memory card. A CompactFlash
TM
interface attached to your
PC is needed to do this. CompactFlash
TM
interfaces are available in most stores that sell computer hardware.
Note
: The CompactFlash
TM
memory card may be formatted as FAT16 or FAT32, do not give the CompactFlash
TM
memory
card a volume label.
12.5.2 Transferring data from CompactFlash
TM
to retentive memory
1. Remove the CompactFlash
TM
card from the CompactFlash
TM
interface and transport it to the site where the HMI is
located.
2. Insert the CompactFlash
TM
card into the units CompactFlash
TM
slot.
Check that
LB9360
changes status from OFF to ON.
3. Force
LB9361
to ON. Check that
LW9136
changes from 0 to 1. Once the download is complete,
LW9136
changes
to 2. This indicates a successful transfer.
Note:
If a 3 is displayed in
LW9136
then the download has failed. You may need to repeat the process making sure
all steps are followed.
