Lesson 3
1.
Repeat the techniques from the previous lessons.
2.
Drop jump – Avoid scratching with the right technique. The student should lie on their stomach with
their face to the bounce mat while the instructor looks for faults that can cause injury
.
3.
Stand on all fours, bounce down on your stomach with your body straight against the bounce mat
and then up to standing position.
4.
Practise the series hands and knees, drop jump, back to standing, sitting jump and back to
standing.
Lesson 4
1.
Repeat the techniques from the previous lessons with 180° turn.
Do a drop jump and when you land on the mat, press off with the right or left arm depending on in
which direction you want to turn.
Keep your back parallel to the mat all the time and bend your head up.
When you have turned 180° you will land in the drop position with your stomach on the mat.
After lesson 4 the student has learned the basic jumping techniques required for safe jumping. Encourage
the jumpers to try new jumps and develop their technique with the emphasis on control and correct body
position.
The BOUNCE game is one way of developing jumping technique and learning new things. Everyone can
take part. Jumper number 1 starts with a jump. Jumper number 2 repeats the first jumper's jump and adds
a new jump. And so you continue until someone makes a mistake. The first person to make a mistake is
given the letter B. This continues until someone has got all the letters in the word BOUNCE. The winner is
the last one standing. It is important during this game to make sure that the participants do not challenge
each other to make more difficult jumps than they can master.
