Specifying test configuration settings

Specifying VCC scan settings
If your test set includes the Advanced IP option, you can verify ATM provi-
sioning by checking for ATM cell activity using the VCC scan test. The following
procedure describes how to specify settings for the VCC (virtual circuit connec-
tion) scan tests.
To specify VCC scan settings
1 Select MODEM TEST from the Main Menu.
2 Select SETUP .
3 Select ADVANCED .
4 Select VCC SCAN .
5 Enter the desired VPI/VCI combination for up to five VCs.
The VCC settings are configured.
Specifying IP pool settings
If your test set includes the Advanced IP option, you can verify whether a
connection is provisioned to assign multiple IP Addresses to one device by
using the IP pool test. The following procedure describes how to specify IP
pool settings.
To specify IP pool settings
1 Select MODEM TEST from the Main Menu.
2 Select SETUP .
3 Select ADVANCED .
4 Select IP POOL .
5 Select POOL SIZE , and then specify how many IP addresses the tester’s
DHCP server may assign to other computers.
6 Select AUTO RELEASE , and then specify whether to automatically
release the IP addresses.
The IP pool settings are configured.
Specifying port settings
If your test set includes the Advanced IP option, you can verify whether a
specific IP address and port are active using the port test. The following proce-
dure describes how to specify port settings.
To specify port settings
1 Select MODEM TEST from the Main Menu.
2 Select SETUP .
3 Select ADVANCED .
4 Select PORT SETUP .
5 Select an address to edit.
NOTE:
This test does not generate ATM traffic on the selected VCC, but depends
on a remote source of ATM traffic, such as ATM OAM from a NOC. Use the
OAM loopback function to actively test a VCC.
