VCC scan testing
The Virtual Circuit Connections (VCC) scan is designed to look for remote ATM
activity on preprogrammed VCs, such as OAM loopback cells from the NOC.
The SmartClass ADSL/Copper Tester does not generate this traffic during the
test and requires a remote traffic source. VCC (virtual circuit connection) scan
helps verify ATM provisioning by checking for ATM cell activity on five ATM VPI/
VCI combinations.
This procedure involves two main steps:
– configure the VPI/VCI of five Virtual Circuits you wish to scan
– run the test
To run a VCC scan test
1
Specify the settings on the VCC SETUP menu.
See
“Specifying VCC scan settings” on page 41
.
2
View the test results.

VCC Scan will tear down and reset the network connection to perform this test.
It will start automatically and display whether the selected VPI/VCI is active or
inactive.
For more information on the results, see
Chapter 7 “Interpreting Test Results”
NOTE:
You must have the advanced IP option installed to use this feature.
NOTE:
If remote traffic is not available for VCC scan, use the OAM Loopback test to
verify if the WAN VPI/VCI is provisioned.
