4.5 SETTING UP & OPERATION FLOW CHART

8. Fit clean backing plates and knife onto Spindle

9. Tighten knife lock nut

11. Check Adequate clearance between grinding wheels and knife

12. Adjust blade zero position to centre of pivot point (brass washer) using jig.

13. Raise mandrel support arm

Retract knife away from mandrel.
CAUTION: Ensure sufficient room is left to slide the log roll on without any danger of contact with
the knife which can result in serious hand injury.

18. Raise mandrel support arm/engage expansion section of mandrel

19. Set up knife rear stop (Outside Diameter of roll plus 5 -20mm for knife clearance)

Use manual feed button to check cut off point (Knife to Mandrel)

Set parameter mandrel/chuck speed (Knife Dwell Timer) number of rotations knife is in contact with
mandrel. Knife RPM. Material Code. Material Thickness

Note: First cut counts, therefore enter number of cuts required plus one

26. Move knife to first cut position
