KNIFE FORWARD STOP
Distance from mandrel to 10-20mm past outside diameter of roll. Set in Screen 4
KNIFE FORWARD STOP
This is the distance the knife moves from its back position to the mandrel. When
operating the machine, if the knife does not quite cut through the core, touch KNIFE
FORWARD STOP on Screen 7 to display a keypad

take note of length and add
approx. .3mm and enter new length into KNIFE FORWARD STOP.
Operate machine and check that core is cut through
CHUCK & MANDREL SPEED
Touch screen and enter Speed (generally 180-400 rpm)
NO. ROLL CUT (CURRENT LOG)
Will automatically return to 0 at the last cut of log roll
KNIFE CONTACT DISTANCE
This is the distance of the knife from the outside diameter of the roll to where the knife
has entered the tape.
FORWARD SPEED MANUAL MODE
Touch screen and set to approx. 20mm/sec
KNIFE (rpm)
Set knife RPM to between 150-500 rpm.
Note: Knife is not normally driven when slitting dense tape. If it is driven when slitting
these tapes keep RPM lower with a high mandrel speed.
CORE TO MANDREL DISTANCE
Usually set to a distance slightly greater than the core thickness (3mm thick core
–
set
distance to 4mm)
NO. CUTS REQUIRED (Total)
Total number of cuts required has to be entered. Machine counts down to zero. The
number of rolls required has to be re entered before the machine will restart.
KNIFE DWELL TIMER
Usually set to approx 3.5secs. The knife will contact the mandrel for the period of time
set in the counter before it retracts. If the core is not cut through the time should be
increased or the forward knife stop distance increased. (See knife forward stop
adjustment)
MATERIAL (PRODUCT) CODE
Reflects Code for log roll being slit.

Touch 0 -19 to position blue line at product to be slit. That material code will then be
displayed in Screen 7

Can preset up to 20 different Product Codes .. Refer section PRODUCT SETTING
DATABASE.
Note: Numbers reflected on screens are all generic and
do not reflect actual or possible settings.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If programming machine to slit a new product.
The new material code must be entered and
highlighted blue BEORE entering settings in
Screen 7 Product Parameters; Screen 8 Product
Settings; Screen 2 Adj Rear Stop
