3.6 PRODUCT SETTINGS
3.6.1 ENTERING PRODUCT SETTINGS

Screen 8/Product Setting
Product setting is used to enter No. of rolls, width, knife contact speed,
material cutting speed, core to Mandrel speed and Angle..
MODE:
To set up cutting modes from 0-19. Keypad will appear (see Keypad settings 3.6.2)
MODE 0:
For cutting one width only. Machine stops automatically when preset no. is reached.
Enter parameter screen to clear cut nos.
MODE 1:
1-19 for cutting various sizes of one product.
Machine automatically continues on to next mode when the preset number of cuts is
reached in current mode.
If you want to use three modes only, you must enter cutting number 0 in mode 4.
The machine stops when cut no in all modes are reached or Right Hand position
(Chuck) is reached.
The screen (machine) then returns to mode 1 again.
No. OF ROLLS:
To set the quantity of rolls to be cut. Must also be set in Screen 3
WIDTH:
To set width of rolls to be cut. This is also the width (distance) the knife moves when
space forward or space backward is operated.
CONTACT SPEED:
The speed the knife moves forward at during the contact distance.
(Normally 3-8 mm/sec). Normally slower than cut speed
CUT SPEED:
The speed the knife moves forward during the cutting distance.
(Normally 5-15 mm/sec)
FINAL SPEED:
The speed the knife moves forward during the final distance
(Normally 3-8 mm/sec)
through the core to the mandrel.
ANGLE (Knife):
To set up cutting angle of knife 0 to -8 degrees at L/Hand side of log roll and 0 to +8
degrees at R/Hand end of log roll.
Enter the degree angle in first and then + or - degree angle.
When the machine is turned on the knife returns to the zero position and then
changes to the pre set cutting angle entered after automatic cutting is activated
CAUTION:
A ‘PLUS’ angle must only be used when making the last cut at the R/Hand end of
machine (chuck end).
