Interleaved 2 of 5 code (I 2 of 5)
A high-density, self-checking, continuous numeric bar code symbology. A bar code
developed by Intermec that encodes the digits 0 through 9. The name Interleaved 2 of 5 is
derived from the method used to encode two characters. In this symbol, two characters
are paired, using bars to represent the first character and interleaved spaces to represent
the second character. Each character has two wide elements and three narrow elements
for a total of five elements. Its maximum density is 7.8 characters per inch. I 2 of 5 is
mainly used in inventory distribution and the automobile industry.
