Enabling Bar Code Symbologies
The terminal can decode several different types of bar code symbologies. Each
symbology, such as Code 39, uses a different scheme for encoding data as bar code. You
must configure the terminal to decode the bar code symbology used in your bar code
labels.
Only enable the bar code symbologies that you need to scan. For more information about
each symbology and the configuration options, see Chapter 9, “Configuration Command
Reference.”
The terminal can decode the bar code symbologies shown in the next table. You can scan
the bar code labels in the table to enable a symbology.
Note: Only three symbologies, Code 39, Code 128, and UPC/EAN, are enabled when
you unpack the terminal.
