Hardware Installations and Initial Configuration
This section guides you on the hardware installations and initial configuration.
3.1
Before You Begin
Please read the Safety Information provided at the beginning of this manual before working with
your server product.
3.2
Tools and Supplies Needed
Following are the tools and supplies needed:
Phillips* (cross head) screwdriver (#1 bit and #2 bit)
Needle nosed pliers
Antistatic wrist strap and conductive foam pad (recommended)

Installation
The Intel

Remote Management Module 3 is currently supported on the following Intel

The Intel

RMM3 Lite is currently supported on all SKU of the Intel
®
Server Board
S3420GPRX.
The Intel
®
RMM3 Lite-V is currently supported on Intel

Server System SR1640TH.

Server Board S5500WB

Storage System SR2612UR
The Intel
®
RMM3 box contains the following components:
Intel
®
Remote Management Module
Network Interface Card (NIC) module
Plastic bag containing screws, slot bracket, 3 plastic standoffs and cabling
The installation will vary between these server boards and their chassis configurations. The
following sections detail installation instructions.
Caution:
Intel
®
RMM3, RMM3 Lite and RMM3 Lite-V are NOT hot-swappable. Before
removing or replacing it, you must first take the server out of service, turn off the
system by pressing the power button and unplug the AC power cord from the system or
wall outlet and wait for at least 10 seconds before installing the module.
