8.4 Terminal
Specifications
8.4.1 Terminal
Functions
For details about the main and control circuit terminals, refer to Chapter 2, Section 2.3.5 and Section
2.3.7 (Table 2.8), respectively.
8.4.2 Connection Diagram in Operation by External Signal Inputs
(Note 1) Install a recommended moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) or a residual-current-operated
protective device (RCD)
/earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) (with the exception of those
exclusively designed for protection from ground faults) in the primary circuit of the inverter to protect
wiring. At this time, ensure that the circuit breaker capacity is equivalent to or lower than the
recommended capacity.
(Note 2) A magnetic contactor (MC) should, if necessary, be mounted independent of the MCCB or ELCB to
cut off the power fed to the inverter. Refer to page 9-2 for details. MCs or solenoids that will be
installed close to the inverter require surge absorbers to be connected in parallel to their coils.
(Note 3) When connecting a DC reactor (optional accessory), remove the jumper bar from terminals [P1]
and [P+]. For details on the terminal assignment, refer to page 10-1 of Chapter 10.
(Note 4) (THR) function can be used by assigning code "9" (Alarm from external equipment) to any of
terminals [X1] to [X3], [FWD] or [REV] (function code E01 to E03, E98, or E99). For details, refer to
Chapter 9.
