Equalizer Types and Parameters
A variety of filters can be used to modify the frequency response of each
loudspeaker signal in a flexible way to achieve a desired equalization. All
filters are implemented as minimum phase filters to minimize delay and tem-
poral artifacts. For each of the ten equalizers per channel, IAP 8 allows the
user to choose one of the following types:

Bell

∆

3 dB
The Bell-shape filter applies a
gain
to amplify/attenuate a frequency
range around a center frequency
f

. The width of the frequency range
f
is defined by the quality factor:

The low-pass filter maintains low-frequencies and attenuates frequencies
above the cutoff frequency
f

with 12 dB per octave.
