2 (Stereo)

This is a conventional stereo setup with two loudspeakers.

This setup adds two height loudspeakers to stereo. Adding loudspeakers
above the left and right loudspeakers adds to the perception of depth and
immersion

. Sound is reproduced with more depth in three dimensions.
3 (Center)

This is a stereo setup with an additional center loudspeaker. A center loud-
speaker may be used to:
– Reproduce the center channel of multi-channel recordings and movies.
– Reproduce the phantom center of stereo recordings

. This reduces inter-
ferences between left and right and stabilizes the sound stage outside of
the sweet spot.
