LOUDSPEAKERS
In addition to the choice of large/small for each loudspeaker, the bass man-
agement crossover filter parameters have to be set to match the used loud-
speakers. The figure above illustrates the Bass Management menu and
selection of its sub-menus.

Select (Rotary Push) enters a sub-menu and Menu
exits it.

LARGE
For each of the loudspeakers you can select
whether it is a large (full-range) or small loudspeaker.
There are two options for small loudspeakers, “Small
1” and “Small 2”, for which different crossover pa-
rameters can be chosen.
2 Order 2 transitions relatively gradually (12 dB per
octave) between bass and higher frequencies, while
Order 3 and Order 4 transition more abruptly (18 and
24 dB per octave, respectively).
Order 2, 3, and 4 are “power complementary
Butterworth” filters. Being “doubly complementary”,
Order 3 has particularly good phase/magnitude
behavior. Order 2-alt and 4-alt are “Linkwitz-Riley”
crossover filters.

For “Small 1” and “Small 2” loudspeakers crossover
filters can be specified in these two sub-menus. In
addition to the filter order (2, 3, 4, 2 alt, 4 alt)

you can choose the crossover frequency, determin-
ing below which frequency signal is considered to
be bass.

Only applied without a subwoofer, this sub-menu
allows to adjust the gain of the bass signals, ex-
tracted from small 1 and small 2 loudspeakers, to
fine-tune the level of bass reproduced over large
loudspeakers.
