Installing a 2.5-inch hot-swap drive cage
To install a 2.5-inch hot-swap drive cage, complete the following steps.
1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the 2.5-inch hot-swap drive
cage to any
unpainted
metal surface on the outside of the system-board tray;
then, remove the 2.5-inch hot-swap drive cage from the package.
2. Align the 2.5-inch hot-swap drive cage with the drive bay; then, carefully slide
the cage into the bay until it stops and the release lever locks into place.
3. Connect the power and signal cables to the backplane on the 2.5-inch hot-swap
drive cage.
4. Install the expansion enclosure, if you removed one (see “Installing an
expansion enclosure on a system-board tray” on page 74); otherwise, install the
system-board tray cover (see “Installing the system-board tray cover” on page
122).
5. Install the system-board tray in the chassis (see “Installing the system-board
tray in a 2U chassis” on page 76).
6. Install the hard disk drives, if you removed any (see “Installing a 2.5-inch
hot-swap hard disk drive” on page 89).
