Removing the 2U chassis from a Type 7825 iDataPlex rack
To remove the 2U chassis from a Type 7825 iDataPlex rack, complete the following
steps.
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
2. If the chassis contains a system-board tray that is operating, shut down the
operating system; then, press the power-control button to turn off the
system-board tray (see “Turning off the system-board tray” on page 6 for more
information).
3. Remove any installed system-board trays (see “Removing the system-board tray
from a 2U chassis” on page 75).
4. Remove the two screws that secure the chassis to the rack; then, pull the
chassis forward, lift the chassis out of the iDataPlex rack, and set it on a flat,
static-protective surface.
5. If you are replacing a damaged chassis, remove the fan assembly and power
supply from the chassis, and place them on a static-protective surface or install
them in the new chassis (see “Removing the 2U chassis fan assembly” on page
80 and “Removing the 2U chassis power supply” on page 94).
6. If you are instructed to return the 2U chassis, follow all packaging instructions,
and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
