Removing an I
2
C multiplexer card
To remove a multiplexer card from the I/O enclosure, complete the following steps.
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
2. If the system-board tray is installed in a chassis, remove it (see “Removing the
system-board tray from a 2U chassis” on page 75).
3. Remove the I/O enclosure from the system-board tray (see “Removing an
expansion enclosure from a system-board tray” on page 73).
4. Carefully set the I/O enclosure on a flat, static-protective surface.
5. Make a note of where the cables are attached to the I
2
C multiplexer card; then,
disconnect them.
6. Remove the screws that secure the I
2
C multiplexer card to the I/O enclosure
and save them for future use.
7. Pull the I
2
C multiplexer card from the mounting clips and remove the card from
the I/O enclosure.
8. If you are instructed to return the I
2
C multiplexer card, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to
you.
