Removal
1.
Turn
off
power
as
described
in
“Powering
Off
the
System”
on
page
427.
2.
Place
the
I/O
drawer
in
the
rear
service
position
as
described
in
“Rear
Service
Position”
on
page
465.
3.
Remove
the
two
thumbscrews
and
remove
the
back
top
cover.
4.
Remove
the
screw
from
the
back
of
the
disk
drive
carrier.
5.
Slide
the
carrier
forward
and
remove.
The
carrier
has
keyed
slots
that
engage
mounting
posts
on
the
chassis.
6.
Make
a
note
of
how
the
disk
drives
are
connected
before
disconnecting.
Disconnect
the
internal
cables
from
the
drives.
7.
If
you
are
replacing
a
defective
boot
drive,
remove
the
mounting
screws
from
the
carrier.
