Replacing the system battery
Your system battery lets your computer save important
system information. Your computer comes with a 3-volt
(CR2032) battery. If you replace it, you must use the
same type.
Follow these steps to replace the battery:

Turn off the computer.

Remove the system cover.

Locate the battery on the system board. Refer to the
board layout figure page 111.

Firmly press the center tab to release the battery.

Lift the battery from the holder with your fingers.

Slide the new battery into the holder with the “+”
side up and then press it down until it clicks into
place.

Discard the old battery according to local regulations.
Caution!
Your computer uses
lithium batteries. There
may be a risk of fire,
explosion, or burns if the
batteries are handled
incorrectly. To ensure
safety:
Do not recharge,
disassemble, heat, or
incinerate a lithium
battery.
Replace the battery with
an identical or equivalent
type lithium battery.
Discard used lithium
batteries according to
local country dispositions.
