4 Configuring the N2000H V3

Click Select Folder. You are returned the Drive Letter or Folder page.
Click Next.

Set file system parameters.
On the
File System Settings
page, the following parameters are displayed:
File system
: The default value is
NTFS
. You are advised to keep the default value.
Allocation unit size
: You are advised to keep the
Default
value.
Volume label
: It specifies a name for a new volume. The default value is
New Volume
.
Name a volume based on the actual service plan.
Generate short file names (not recommended)
: By default, this option is not selected.
You are advised to keep the default setting.
Set the preceding parameters based on the actual service plan and click
Next
.
Step 8
(Optional) Set the deduplication property by referring to 4.7.3.8 Configuring Deduplication.
Step 9
Confirm that the configuration information displayed on the
Confirmation
page is correct.
Then, click
Create
to create a volume.
Step 10
If all configuration tasks on the
Results
page are in the
Completed
state, the volume is
created successfully. Click
Close
.

Result
After creating a volume, perform the following steps to check whether the parameters are set
correctly:
Choose File and Storage Services > Volumes from the navigation tree of the Server
Manager.
In the VOLUMES area, check the newly created volume and its properties.
4.7.1.2 Checking the Factory Configuration
Some of the roles and features have been configured in the process of installing Windows
Storage Server 2012 on the N2000 server at the factory. To ensure that features such as file
server and sharing can be used properly, you are advised to check whether the factory
configuration is correct.
Prerequisites
The hardware of the N2000 server has been installed and powered on.
You have logged in to Windows Storage Server 2012.
Procedure
Step 1
Choose
Dashboard
>
Add roles and features
from the navigation tree of the Server
Manager that is automatically started after a login to the operating system.
Step 2
In the
Add Roles and Features Wizard
window, the
Before You Begin
page is displayed by
default. Click
Next
