2 How to Install and Upgrade Accessories In Your PC

Installing Accessory Boards

PCI Slot Numbers Used in the PC’s Setup Program

Your PC uses logical slot numbers in the

Setup

program. You only need

to know these PCI slot numbers if you want to change the PCI slot
configuration in the

Setup

program. The logical slot numbers are

printed on the PC’s motherboard.

Installing an Accessory Board

NOTE

Only use XT format ISA accessory boards (width less than 10.4 cm or
4.1 inches).
The length of boards you install must not exceed 17.6 cm or 6.9 inches).

Remove the computer’s cover (described in this chapter).

Undo the screw from the slot cover and lift the slot cover out.
