To install the hot-plug cable:
Procedure for the hot-plug cable installation varies depending on which expansion slot you used to
install the hot-plug SATA/SAS controller board—the low-profile slot or the standard height/full-length
slot.
1.
If you installed the hot-plug SATA/SAS controller board in the low-profile slot, reinstall the PCI
riser board assembly, and then proceed to the next step.
If you installed the hot-plug SATA/SAS controller board in the standard height slot, proceed to
step 4.
2.
Route the hot-plug cable from the low-profile slot to the backplane board.
a.
Engage the connector end of the cable to the rear connector of the hot-plug SATA/SAS
controller board.
b.
Lay the cable between the PCI Express x16 slot and the Intel MCH chipset.
c.
Route the cable between the ATX system board power connector and the PCI retainer
bracket.
d.
Position the cable underneath the PSU cables, and then pull it through towards the chassis’
partition wall.
e.
Secure the cable using the pre-installed cable clips located on the chassis base.
