Engine oil and filter change
Fuel filter change
1. Open the valve under the water separator to
drain off water and/or diesel from the filter.
2. Disconnect the plug-and-socket connection
of the sensor from the water separator.
3. Use a filter wrench to loosen the filter by turn -
ing anti-clockwise and take it off.
4. Unscrew the sight glass from the filter element.
5. Clean the sight glass, fit a new O-ring (comes
with the new filter) and screw the sight glass
to the new filter element.
6. Wet the seal ring on the top side of the filter
element with oil and screw the filter element
hand-tight to the upper part of the filter (do
not use a filter wrench)!
7. Connect the plug-and-socket connection of
the sensor and make sure that the drain valve
is closed.
8. Operate the hand pump to fill the new filter
(repeatedly press the black button).
9. The filter must be bled during pumping. After
several pumping strokes hold the button de-
pressed and open the bleeding screw (span-
ner width 12 mm). Keep repeating this proce-
dure, until only clear diesel fuel comes out of
the bleeding screw (catch running out fuel).
NOTE
After changing the fuel filter start the engine and
run it for a short while!
Cleaning the diesel pre-filter
10. Clean the area around the filter housing.
11.Remove the lid with a 22 mm ring spanner.
12.
Remove the filter, check visually for contami -
nation and damage.
13. Clean the filter or replace it if necessary.
14. Assemble the filter and close the lid.
15. Change the main diesel filter. Clean the area
around the filter housing.
16.Use a 36 mm open end spanner to open the
filter housing.
17.Remove housing cover and filter element.
18.
Pull the dirt collector by the two ears out of
the housing, clean it and assemble it again.
19. Loosen the filter element from the housing
cover by pulling it lightly.
20.Replace the O-ring on the housing cover.
21.
Install the new filter element by slightly press -
ing it into the housing cover.
22. Screw the housing cover including the filter
into the housing.
23.Tighten the lid with 25 Nm.
24.Operate the pump on the water separator
approx. 5 times to refill the system.
25.Start the engine and check the system for
leaks.
