4-11 Nipper Angle Adjustment
If the sharpness of the spine is incorrect (too sharp, or
too round) on either side of the spine, adjust the nipper
angle on both sides.
Turn off the power switch and open
the lower nipper door.
Loosen the locking screw on the
nipper angle adjusting block.
- Refer to the illustration below.
Rotate the nipper angle adjusting
block left or right to adjust the nip-
per angle.
- When you turn the nipper angle adjust block
to the right, the left side (melt tank side) of the
nipper lowers and the left (melt tank side) side
of the spine becomes more round.
Lock the adjusting block and close
the lower nipper door.
Test the binding.
- Check that the spine sharpness is the same
on both sides of the spine.
- When using signatures, the corners may
become sharper.
