4. Trouble Shooting
4-1 Troubleshooting
Symptom
Remedy

Glue will not
melt.
Reset circuit breaker (refer to p.30).
Replace fuse (refer to p.31).
Breaker (Q01,Q02) has tripped.
Thermo-fuse is burned out.
Space heater has failed.
Replace space heater (contact supplier).
Trimmings are not
collected.
Insert connectors.
Empty trimmings bag.
Connectors have been removed.
Trimmings bag is full.
Circuit breaker (Q03) has tripped. Reset circuit breaker (refer to p.30).
Book spine is not
roughened.
Roughening cutter position is too
low.
Adjust height of roughening cutter. (refer
to p.27)
Circuit Breaker (Q05) has tripped.Reset circuit breaker (refer to p.30)
Insufficient glue is
applied.
Insufficient glue is supplied.
Add glue.
Temperature of glue is low.
Adjust temperature around 180 degrees
Celsius with glue temperature control
knob.
Amount of glue to be applied is
not properly adjusted.

Book block has not been tapped
enough.
Refer to p.18.
Binding is poor
quality.
Cover is too thick.
Use cover of proper thickness (from 80 to
300 gsm) to suit thickness of book block.
Nipper does not
operate.
Book spine is not
nipped propely.
Nipping pressure is too weak.
Turn the nipping pressure adjustment knob
clockwise to increase the nipper pressure.
