2-2 Achieving Good Quality Binding
(4) Glue Adjustment
CAUTION
- Only perform glue adjustment while
the glue is melted.If adjustment is
attempted when glue is not completely
melted,the machine can be damaged.
-When binding with a cover, set the glue
adjusting knob between positions 1 and 2.
-When binding a thick book (a book thick-
ness of about 2 to 3 cm) with a cover, set
the glue adjusting knob to further than 2
to ensure strong bonding.
-When binding a thick book (book thick-
ness of about 2 to 3 cm) with tape or
padding, set the glue adjusting knob
between positions 0 and 1 to get clean and
neat binding.

(5) Stirring Glue in the Tank
Hot-melt glue may not be applied to a book
block evenly in case temperature of glue in the
tank is uneven (right after the glue is melted). In
such case, follow the procedure below to stir the
hot-melt glue and improve uneven temperature
of glue in the tank.
1.
Turn on the power switch and wait for the
reset lamp to light which shows that the hot-
melt glue is ready for binding.
2.
Press the reset button.
- The clamper close button blinks.
3.
Select “padding (binding without cover)”
with the binding mode selector switch.
