3. Operation
3.1 Safety Instructions
The machine is built according to state of the art
technology and to currant saftey regulations.
Provided that it is operated properly no specific
dangers for the operator are to be expected.
It is assumed, that the operating personnel is
adequately trained in the operation of machine
tools.
The following safety instructions must
absolutely
be followed:
Danger
• Before starting to work make sure, that all safety
features of your machine are working properly,
particularly the locking- and switching function of
the door security switches, as well as the proper
mounting of all covering sheet metal parts.
• As long as the machine is working, don’t reach in
the area of rotating shafts, equipment or tools.
• The electrical cabinet may only be opened for
maintenance reasons by
authorized personnel
,
and is to be locked
permanently
for the remaining
time.
•
As a general principle
, the main switch is to be
switched off and secured against unintended
switching-on during repair and maintenance work
on the machine.
• All-round protective enclosure, protective features,
covering sheet metal etc. may only be removed
for maintenance or repair work.
The machine may not be started without these
features.
The all-round protective enclosure must
always be completely closed during operation
and must not be opened
.
• Before performing work on the hydraulic system it
must always be relieved of pressure via the hand
wheel or the emergency valves. Switching off of
the hydraulic system is not adequate.
• Safety features may never be manipulated,
switched off or in any other way by-passed.
• Before performing work on the feed motor and
the toothed belt (Z-axis) absolutely read the
chapter "Disassembly of the feed motor" .
• Under no circumstance may the machine be cleaned
with compressed air - danger of flying chips or small
particles.
• Use only tools which are suitable for cutting the
material intended. Please also note, that certain
tools are only accepted for speeds up to a certain
limit.
• The use of grinding wheels and cutting-off wheels
is not allowed, as the required speeds cannot be
reached with milling machines.
• During manual tool change make sure to wear
suitable gloves. Otherwise it is forbidden to wear
security gloves. When inserting tools into the
magazine use the manual gripper which is standard
equipment.
• During working with the machine wear tight fitting
clothing and hair nets for longer hair. Roll up
sleeves towards the inside only. Take off wrist
watches, rings, chains and similar jewelery before
starting to work.
• Lifting devices which are used to load the machine
must be adequate for the purpose and provide
sufficient lifting capacity.
• When handling coolant liquid please see the
notes at chapter 5.
• Dispose of used oil, coolant liquid, dirty filter
elements, oily chips etc. environmentally
responsible.
In any case respect the legal environmental
regulations.
Select oils and coolant liquids according to their
environmental compatibility and select a supplier
who takes care of proper disposal.
