Understanding and addressing operational issues
Problem
Possible Cause
Action
Agitation has stopped,
but the motion alarm is
not active.
The motion alarm for
the position where the
agitator is installed has
been disabled (applies to
i.Series models only).
►
Enable the motion alarm. For more
information, see Section 4.4.3, “Changing the
settings for motion alarms.”
The agitator alarm
setpoint value has not
been reached (applies to
i.Series models only)
►
Wait until the setpoint has been reached. The
alarm should activate. For more information,
see Section 4.4.3, “Changing the settings for
motion alarms.”
The delay period for the
motion alarm is set too
low (applies to PC4200i
models only)
►
Verify that the delay period control is set
to a value that is greater than the agitator
alarm setpoint. For more information and
instructions, see Section 4.4.3, “Changing the
settings for motion alarms.”
The end of the delay
period for the motion
alarm has not been
reached (applies to
Horizon models only)
►
Wait until the delay period has ended. The
alarm should activate. For more information
about PC4200 models, see Section 5.2.2,
“Delaying the motion alarm.” For more
information about the delay period on installed
i.Series agitators, refer to the Operation
Manual for your agitator.
The motion alarm
system is not receiving
power.
►
Check that there is AC power to the incubator.
►
Test the backup battery. If the battery is
not functioning, replace the battery. For
instructions, see Section 7.2.3, “Testing and
replacing the battery for the motion alarm.”
A component is faulty or
internal connections are
loose.
►
Contact a qualified service technician.
The motion alarm is
activating sporadically
while the agitator is
moving.
The alarm system is
not receiving power
consistently (applies to
PC4200 models only).
►
Check that there is AC power to the agitator.
►
Test the backup battery. If the battery is not
functioning, or has been in use for one year,
replace the battery. For instructions, see
Section 7.2.3, “Testing and replacing the
battery for the motion alarm.”
A component is faulty or
internal connections are
loose.
►
Contact a qualified service technician.
The motion alarm is
active, but there is no
agitator installed at that
position (applies only to
i.Series models without
a built-in agitator).
The alarm is enabled
for that position when it
should be disabled.
►
Disable the motion alarm for that position. For
more information and instructions, see Section
4.4.3, “Changing the settings for motion
alarms.”
The motion alarm is
activating immediately
when agitation is started
(applies to PC4200h
models only).
The delay period is set
to 0 minutes, which
activates the alarm before
motion can be sensed.
►
Change the delay period to a value greater than
0 minutes. For instructions, see Section 5.2.2,
“Delaying the motion alarm.”
A component is faulty or
internal connections are
loose.
►
Contact a qualified service technician.
