3.7
Installing the tube for alarm checks
NOTE:
This section applies only to PC100 models.
The accessories box for PC100 models includes a tube that is used for alarm checks. This tube must be
installed so that the chamber temperature alarms can be tested. Slide the tube so that it is below the probe.
!
CAUTION:
Leaving the probe covered during operation prevents the probe from accurately
reading the chamber temperature.

Configuring the incubator setpoint
The incubator setpoint is used by the temperature controller to adjust the chamber temperature of the
incubator. The compressor runs and cools the chamber as long as the incubator is receiving AC power
and turned on. The temperature controller senses the temperature in the chamber through the temperature
control probe. If the chamber temperature goes below the incubator setpoint, the temperature controller
activates the chamber heater until the chamber temperature returns to the setpoint.
At the factory, the incubator setpoint is set at 22.0 °C. You may need to change the setpoint if your
organization requires a different normal chamber temperature.
NOTE:
Depending on purchasing requirements for your organization, the default
setpoint may be a value other than 22.0 °C. Be sure to verify the default setting
for your incubator and note any differences for future reference.
To configure the incubator setpoint
!
CAUTION:
Do not change the refrigerator setpoint to a value outside the temperature control
range. For more information, see
Section 9.3.4, “Operating conditions.”
1
Determine what the normal temperature for the chamber should be. The factory has determined the
normal temperature to be 22.0 °C, but it may be different for your organization.
2
On the front of the incubator, open the control door to access the temperature controller. The current
temperature of the chamber appears on the display. The current temperature may be different from the
setpoint, especially if the chamber temperature has not yet stabilized.
