7.4.3 Dosing pumps for the systems OCD-164-350 to
OCD-164-2000
With the system sizes OCD-164-350 to OCD-164-2000, dosing
pumps with integral pressure relief and vent valves are used.
The pressure relief valve protects the complete pressure side of
the dosing line system from an impermissibly high buildup of
pressure.
Fig. 20
System with pressure relief and vent valve
The pressure relief valve can be opened manually, thus serving
as a vent valve at the same time.
• Rotate the knob such that the smaller cut-out is positioned on
the nub of the dosing head (1). The rotary knob is then further
away from the dosing head, and the valve spring is relieved.
• Switch on the dosing pumps using the [F2] or [F3] keys.
• Return the rotary knob to the "Operation" position (2) when
dosing medium flows out of the venting hose (3) back into the
tank without bubbles.
• The pumps are switched off when the buttons are released.
• Use the [Escape] key to return to the "Service mode" menu.
Setting the bypass water quantity for batch operation
• Use the [F2] key to switch to the "Bypass water" menu.
The target value is calculated and displayed on the basis of the
entered concentration and size of the system. In this menu, the
bypass water (actual value) must be set to the required amount of
water (target value).
Fig. 21
Setting the bypass water quantity at the ball valve
To change the water quantity use the ball valve at the back of the
system.
• Use the [F2] key to switch on the bypass water (solenoid
valve). Use the dosing ball valve to match the actual value to
the target value.
• Use the [F2] key to switch off the bypass water again.
Changing the limit
• Use the [F1] key to switch to the input field -50/+20 %.
• Enter the value by pressing the [UP] or [DOWN] keys
(to change the number), and the [LEFT] and [RIGHT] arrow
keys (to change the input position).
Switching from -50 % to +20 % is carried out using the [F1] key.
• Press the [Enter] key to confirm the entry.
• Use the [Escape] key to return to the "Startup mode" menu.
Starting of startup mode
• Use the [F3] key to switch to the "Startup mode/start" menu.
• Press the [Enter] key to start the startup mode.
The remaining time for the startup mode is shown on the display.
If it has expired, the system switches off automatically.
• Use the [Enter] or [Escape] key to return to the "Startup"
menu.
• Use the [Escape] key to return to the "Service mode" menu or
to the "Main menu".

Caution
Open the ball valve carefully, and adjust actual value
to target value from bottom direction. If the ball valve
is opened too far, the actual value can be displayed
wrongly.
Note
If the actual flow is changed, the changed flow is
displayed correctly after approx. 8-10 seconds.
Note
If it is difficult to set the water amount using the ball
valve, slightly loosen both screws on the valve. Set
the water amount, and then retighten the screws.
Check the tightness of the ball valve.
Note
Due to the processing of the signals by the SPS
control (PLC), the displayed bypass water quantity
may vary slightly.
This is not significant, because the variations are
always within a certain range.
Note
The bypass water must later be checked again in
automatic mode or in manual mode, as the pressure
conditions in the system may change as a result of
further operation of the dosing pumps.
