The two "T" shaped fuel tanks are located on each side
of the unit attached to the main frame above the drive
wheels. Each tank is fitted with a filler cap, breather
pipe, baffles and a connecting balance pipe.
The fuel tank baffles reduce the effect of “surge” when
operating on a grade with full tanks.
The balance pipe between each tank ensures fuel
usage is even in each tank.
NOTE: The fuel tank breather pipes enter the
mainframe and rise to the top of the frame on both
sides. The hydraulic reservoir also has a breather that
enters the left hand side frame. These breathers allow
for thermal expansion associated with over-filling or
operations in high ambient temperatures.
A drain plug is fitted to the bottom of each fuel tank.
