5.5 DIESEL ENGINE REMOVAL
The diesel engine is removed through the back of the
unit’s frame.
1. Disconnect battery terminals.
2. Remove operator presence plate. The presence
switch may be removed to provide additional
clearance.
3. Unbolt the operator panel/radiator from the frame
and slide back. Disconnect wiring and coolant
hoses. Remove the panel.
4. Drain coolant from radiator into a suitable container
and dispose properly.
5. Disconnect the battery ground wire from the
engine.
6. Remove fuel line from fuel filter. Be prepared to
catch or clean up any spilled fuel.
7. Disconnect and remove the fuel line across the
bottom of the engine mounts. Be prepared to catch
or clean up any spilled fuel.
8. Mark the wiring connectors and disconnect the
engine.
9. Disconnect the throttle control cable.
10.Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust
manifold.

NOTE: The “Stop timer” cuts
off fuel for 7 seconds to stop
the engine. ie. The normally
open fuel valve is energized
closed for 7 secs. to stop the
engine, then de-energizes to
reset fuel valve open for
next start.

WARNING: Be certain that the exhaust
system is cool before removing the exhaust
pipe or burns will result.
