Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation
7. If Check Standard is disabled, press the
Check Standard
button and then press the
Enabled
button that
appears to the right.
8. Press the
Range
button. The range buttons appear to the right. Press a button for the specified range
(such as
Up To 1,000
) or press
Auto
to have the Analyzer use the Auto Range function. (For more
information on the Auto Range function, see
.)
9. Press the
Measure
button to specify which value to measure: IC, NPOC, TOC, or TC.
10. Press
Advanced Setup
Blank Correction
to specify whether the blank correction feature should be
set to
On
or
Off
.
11. Press the
Acid
button to specify the percent of this reagent to use in the protocol.
12. Press the
Oxidizer
button to specify the percent of this reagent to use in the protocol.
13. Press the
Reps
button to change the default setting for the number of measurements (repetitions) the
Analyzer will make for this stream.
14. Press the
Reject
s button to change the number of check standard measurements the Analyzer should
exclude from its calculations.
15. Press
Advanced Setup
Sparge
to change the default sparging time (in minutes) when NPOC is
measured.
16. Press the
Flush
button to configure flushes:
• Press the
Dilution Water Flush
button to rinse out salts or particulates from the reactor and its seals.
• Press the
Sample Flushes
button to flush the Analyzer with the new check standard. Up to five
Sample Flushes may be selected. Use Sample Flushes to quickly reach steady-state response when
the Analyzer will be switching from one stream to another and the two streams have very different
concentrations.
17. Press the
Calibration
button to specify the calibration to be used.
18. When finished, press the
Back
button to return to the
Check Standard
screen, and then press the
Back
button. The
Configure Online
screen appears.
19. Continue to the next section to complete the configuration for online measurements.
To set up check standard measurements (Manual Start)
1. On the
Setup
tab, press the
Check Standard
button. The
Check Standard Setup
button appears to the
right.
2. Press the
Check Standard Setup
button. The
Check Standard (Setup)
screen appears.

OTE
:
The number of rejects must be less than the number of repetitions selected for the check standard.
Rejects applies to the initial measurements of the check standard, (as shown in
Figure 41 Continuous Operationn page 127
. Use this feature to exclude initial measurements when
the concentration of the check standard is different from the previously measured sample, so that
the average of the check standard measurements is accurate.
