Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation
Setting the Fail Safe Option
If the Fail Safe accessory is installed, the Analyzer is fitted with level sensors in each sample inlet to detect when
flow has stopped in any sample stream. Level sensors are installed in the reagent, dilution water, and Check
Standard carboys. These level sensors allow the Analyzer to automatically alert you when a carboy should be
refilled.
You must set the Fail Safe option to
On
in order to set the instrument to inform the Analyzer NOT to analyze a
stream that is not flowing. When flow resumes in that stream, the Analyzer will measure it again in its original
sequence. You can also set the Fail Safe option to
Off
to disable the Fail Safe option, which is helpful when
performing maintenance procedures.
To set the Fail Safe option
1. Select the
Maintenance
tab.
2. Press the
Advanced
button.
3. Press the
Fail Safe
button, and then press either the
On
or
Off
button.
Setting the Keyboard Options
Specify the manner in which the Keyboard will be displayed: standard
QWERTY
mode or
Alphabetical
mode.
1. Select the
Maintenance
tab.
2. Press the
Advanced
button.
3. The
Keyboard
button will either be set to
Keyboard QWERTY
or
Keyboard Alphabetical
. Press the
button to toggle between the two options.
Setting the Display Options
When the Analyzer values fall into the negative range, the user has the option to display these values as
Negative
or as
Non-Detect (ND)
.
1. Select the
Maintenance
tab.
2. Press the
Advanced
button.
3. The
Display Options
button will either be set to
Display Options Negative
or
Display Options ND
.
Press the button to choose between the two options.
