Replacing the system board

Install the new power supply into the case, then install the four retention
screws to secure the power supply to the case.

Reconnect the power supply cables using your notes from Step 3 . See the
power supply documentation for further instructions.

Close the case by following the instructions in “Closing the case” on
page 166 .
Replacing the system board
To replace the system board:

Remove the side panel by following the instructions in “Removing the side
panel” on page 162 .

For more stability, place your computer on its side. To avoid scratching
the case, place it on a towel or other non-abrasive surface.

Remove all of the add-in cards by following the instructions in “Adding
or replacing add-in cards” on page 173 .

Disconnect the power and data cables from the system board, noting their
locations and orientation. (You will reconnect the cables after you install
the new board.)
