• Allow the espresso machine to cool for 2 minutes between each coffee
making cycle. Do not remove the portafilter during the extraction as the
machine is under pressure.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected to the power
supply. Always turn the control dial to the central standby position, switch
off (press the POWER button), then unplug the appliance, and leave the
appliance cool down, before moving, or cleaning the appliance, or
when the appliance is not in use.
• Keep the appliance and its parts and accessories clean. Regularly de-
scale the appliance. Clean and de-scale the appliance according to
the instructions in chapter >Care and Cleaning< and >De-Scaling the
Machine<.
• Do not use any abrasive cleaners, cleaning pads (e.g. metal scouring
pads), or any corrosive cleaners (e.g. disinfectants, de-scalers). Do not use
any hard or sharp-edged objects for operating or cleaning the appliance.
• Do not place the appliance or any of its parts or accessories in an auto-
matic dishwasher.
• Do not use violence to avoid damage to the appliance and any of its
parts. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid!
NOTES FOR TEXTURING MILK
For texturing milk, immerse the steam wand into the milk. The seal above the
steam wand tip must be covered.
Note:
If steam is given off, while the steam wand is not immersed in the milk, the
milk could splash out of the milk jug.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that the milk will not run out of the milk jug
during texturing.
WARNING:
Do not take the steam wand out of the milk while steam is still
coming out. Otherwise, hot milk could splash out of the milk jug. Always
switch the control dial back to the central standby position, before removing
the milk jug from the steam wand. Approximately 5 seconds after switching
