MAKING COFFEE
WARNING:
Do not leave the appliance or any part of it unattended, when in reach
of young children. Always ensure that you have assembled the appliance completely
and correctly according to the instructions in this booklet before connecting the appliance
to the power supply and operating the appliance. When activating the coffee function
or steam function, hot water and steam are given off under pressure, escaping from the
group head and/or steam wand. Always keep your hands and arms in appropriate
distance to avoid scalds.
Keep the workspace clean and dry. Do not allow any liquids run on or under the appli-
ance. Do not place any clothes or tissues on or under the appliance during operation. If
liquids run out or are spilled in the housing, immediately unplug the appliance. Always
wipe off spilled liquids immediately and dry the appliance according to the instructions
in chapter >Care and Cleaning<.
FILLING THE WATER TANK AND PREPARING THE MACHINE FOR
OPERATION
CAUTION:
Always ensure that the filling level within the water tank is between the MIN
(250 ml) and MAX (1800ml) marking line before operating the appliance. Check the
filling level before each use and fill in clear tap water in time.
We do not recommend the use of highly filtered, de-mineralized or distilled water as this
may affect the taste of the coffee and how the espresso machine is designed to work.
Use clear tap water or low-mineral table water.
Note:
Check the water level before use and replace the water daily. The water tank should
be filled with fresh, cold tap water before each use. Do not use de-mineralised or dis-
tilled water or any other liquid.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure not to spill the water when re-assembling the water tank.
1. Open the water tank lid and carefully fill the water tank with cold tap water to the
MAX marking on the side of the tank.
2. Plug the power plug into the power outlet.
3. Press the POWER button. The POWER button surround will flash, while the machine
is heating. When the correct temperature has been reached, the POWER button and
SELECT button on the control panel will illuminate continuously.
