REPLACING THE FILTER PACK AND CLEANING THE WATER TANK
The water filter helps to prevent the accumulation of scale within the inner parts of the
machine, as this can affect the performance of your machine over time, potentially cau-
sing blockages and heating problems. Replacing the filter pack of the water filter every
two months with the designated filter pack will reduce the mineral build-up in the machi-
ne (see: >De-Scaling the Machine<). If you live in a hard water area, we recommend
to change the water filter more frequently.
Note:
Visit www.gastroback.de or call your vendor to purchase the designated filter packs
for the water filter. Please contact your vendor for further reference.
1. Remove the filter pack from the plastic bag, and soak the filter pack in a cup of water
for 5 minutes.
2. Lift the water tank up and out of the machine. Empty the water tank.
3. Pull the water filter out of the water tank by the top ring. Disassemble the filter holder
by pressing the two flaps at the base of the filter holder simultaneously while pulling
the two parts of the filter holder apart. Dispose of the exhausted filter pack in dome-
stic waste. Wash the stainless steel mesh in the base of the filter holder with water.
4. Rinse the new, soaked filter pack under cold running water for some seconds. As
a memory aid, you may set the white date dial on top of the filter holder 2 months
ahead.
