5. Place a sufficiently large container under both the group head and the steam wand.
When the appliance reaches the operating temperature, the POWER button will be
illuminated continuously. The machine is now ready for de-scaling.
THE DE-SCALING PROCESS
WARNING:
Do not aspirate the vapours of any type of de-scaling solution to avoid
injuries to your respiratory tracts. Always ensure good ventilation during de-scaling.
CAUTION:
During the de-scaling process, do not empty the water tank below the
250ml filling level (MIN marking). Do not remove the water tank with the appliance still
switched on.
6. Turn the control dial to the left coffee position and let half the de-scaler mixture run
through the group head (approx. 1 litre). Turn the control dial back to the central
standby position.
7. Press the SELECT button to select the hot water function. The HOT WATER indicator
will be illuminated. Then turn the control dial to the right steam position and allow
the liquid to run through the steam wand. While doing so, monitor the filling level in
the water tank. When the filling level drops below the 250ml MIN marking, set the
control dial back to the central standby position.
8. Press the POWER button to switch off the appliance.
PURGING THE MACHINE
9. Remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly. Then re-assemble the water tank and
fill it with fresh cold water. Empty the container utilized for de-scaling and place it
back under the group head and steam wand.
10. To rinse the machine, press the POWER button and wait until the POWER button is
illuminated continuously (not flashing).
11. Turn the control dial to the left coffee position and run half the water through the
group head. Then run the water through the steam wand via the hot water function
(see above). While doing so, again monitor the filling level in the water tank. When
the filling level drops below the 250ml MIN marking, set the control dial back to
the central standby position.
12. Press the POWER button to switch off the appliance. Then remove the water tank
and rinse it thoroughly again. Re-assemble and fill the water tank with fresh cold
water. Remove the container from the drip tray and discard the water. The machine
is ready for use now.
