Power Saver Modes
This printer is equipped with a power saver mode 1 and a power saver mode 2 to reduce
power consumption when it is left idle.
When no print data is received for 3 minutes, the printer will enter the power saver mode 1.
When no data is received for a further 5 minutes (a total of 8 minutes lapse (default) since
the last receiving data), it will enter power saver mode 2 by default.
When it enters power saver mode 1, “Ready/Standby” is displayed on the control panel.
When it enters power saver mode 2, the display of the control panel blacks out and the light
of <Power Saver> indicator blinks. The time ranges to specify for the printer to go into power
saver mode 1 or power saver mode 2 are 1 to 120 minutes or 5 to 120 minutes, respectively.
Consumption of power during power saver mode 2 is TBD W or less and the time required
to exit from power saver mode 2 to a print-ready status is about TBD seconds.
Note
• You can specify for the printer not to go into power saver mode 2.
• For details on the power saver mode and the procedure to change the settings, refer to “Basic
Operations (Example: Changing the Low Power Mode Settings)” (P. 53).
Exiting the Power Saver Mode
The printer automatically cancels the power saver mode once it receives data from the
computer.
To cancel power saver mode 1 or power saver mode 2 manually, press any button on the
control panel or press the <Power Saver> button, respectively.
